ABSTRACT

The current methods of oral contraception are reviewed and the mechanism of their effects are explained, pointing

out some genital and extragenital side effects. Contraindications of these methods are noted, and the reason why

this method of contraception is not more popular in Czechoslovakia is discussed. The Czechoslovak preparation

Antigest is considered to be reliable, but it has more side effects than the corresponding foreign preparations. It is

suggested that either other preparations which have minimal side effects be imported or they be produced within the

country. Only then can one hope that this type of contraception will be accepted in Czechoslovakia. (PubHealth.info
