ABSTRACT

The urgent need for limiting the phenomenal increases in population over the world has been felt for over 25 years

throughout the world but especially by India. Although widely used throughout the U.S., oral contraceptives and IUDs

have failed to achieve universal popularity in India. However, vasectomy has been a successful source of

contraception. Greater practical interest in family planning is needed by the medical profession in India. It is

practical to proceed with caution in areas where there is doubtful validity in trying to induce people to limit their

families to 3 children and undergo compulsory sterilization. (PubHealth.info Document ID: CONT9T 1038-06)
