ABSTRACT

Because of their high position in society, medical doctors have a great obligation to serve the needs of the

community, particularly in rural areas where doctor shortages are acute. In the field of family planning the young

doctor can assist by: 1) educating his own relatives and community; 2) assist in setting up local general health care

organizations incorporating family planning; 3) being willing to work in local clinics and to train paramedical

personnel in free time. To be effective the medical student must gain rapport with the local community and be

sensitive to the many needs which motivative the adults he is trying to influence. (PubHealth.info Document ID:
