ABSTRACT

This patent, granted October 21, 1975, is for a pleated membrane intrauterine contraceptive device, designed to be

nonsurgically placed into the uterus to protect against accidental conception. The IUD consists of a series of

accordionlike folded pleats of flexible material. The large surface supplied by these pleats allows this IUD to be

impregnated with such an amount of biochemically active chemical as to have a significant contraceptive effect. 6

claims and 4 drawn figures accompany this patent material. (PubHealth.info Document ID: CONT7T 3063-06)
