ABSTRACT

An attempt is made in this module to present a comprehensive approach to family planning communication

planning, drawing on both research and practice from a number of disciplines and programs. Designed for mid-

career planners and administrators working in family planning communication programs, this module text is built

around 7 units, each of which deals with a set of planning concepts. The 1st unit, which contains an introduction to

the planning process, presents a flow model of the planning process which integrates strategy planning with

management planning. The remaining 6 units are structured around this planning module. The text also contains

several supplementary readings intended to be used with the basic text. Each unit begins with 2 kinds of objectives:

the 1st set of objectives expresses the basic ideas which the learner is expected to master; the 2nd set of

objectives are application objectives, which describe what the learner is expected to be able to do in applying the

basic concepts of the unit to a real or simulated planning situation. (PubHealth.info Document ID: CONT7T 3055-06)
