ABSTRACT

Oral contraceptives (OCs) have been in use for more than 20 years. Since then, the medical literature is replete with

articles warning of the potential risks for the users of that form of birth control. A review of the recent literature offers

us a better understanding of the problem of the negative aspects of OCs and also of the important advantages of their

use in family planning. It is hoped that this information will diminish the apprehension of the consumers of birth

control pills and of the physicians responsible for family planning. (author's) (PubHealth.info Document ID: CONT5T
