ABSTRACT

950 randomly selected secondary schoolgirls were surveyed, the youngest of whom was age 12. 29% claimed that

they were sexually active; however, age had no influence on the frequency of sexual intercourse. Multiple sexual

partners, a high risk behavior for contracting sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS, was demonstrated in

33.7% and only 20.3% used orthodox methods of contraception. Induced abortion was procured by 23.5% and most

were procured from unskilled personnel and through unsafe methods. (PubHealth.info Document ID: CONT3T 2022-
