ABSTRACT

By the end of 1996, a joint UN Population Fund/World Health Organization project in Bosnia-Herzegovina resulted in

the training of more than 500 health professionals in reproductive health, the wide distribution of reproductive health

materials, and the involvement of youth in public discussions. These accomplishments occurred despite

widespread obstacles resulting from years of warfare. The project's success is due to the work of a core group of

health professionals who met in teams to train trainers and to involve youth groups in discussions and educational

activities. The youth activities have been bolstered by radio and television broadcasts on related topics and by a

weekly sexual health hot line radio program. The program has elicited an overwhelmingly positive response from the

community. (PubHealth.info Document ID: CONT2T 2066-06)
